The Wisdom of Jim Rohn

your body_Jim Rohn

As this is my summer of self-care, I’ve set the intention to practice yoga at least three times a week. So far, I’ve been twice this week, so I’m on my way. On Monday, as I was walking to the studio, I noticed this sign in a patch of green and wood chips on the sidewalk. I HAD to take a picture. Jim Rohn was certainly one of the foremost trailblazers in the self help and personal development industry, an entrepreneur and beloved motivational speaker. I get so inspired by his business and time management quotes. When I saw this, I knew I needed to share it.

Indeed, when I’m speaking to corporate groups and entrepreneurs, I stress that health, nutrition and well-being is the foundation of all business endeavors. If we don’t have time to take care of ourselves when we’re healthy, how are we going to have the time to take care of ourselves and our businesses when we’re sick? That’s a BIG question.

This also reminds me of one of my favorite Martha Graham quotes: The body is a sacred garment. It is what we enter life in and what we depart life with, and it should be treated with honor.

Do you take care of your body? Do you treat your body with honor? Do you eat food that nourishes your body, mind and spirit? These are important questions you MUST ask yourself and answer honestly. Your life depends on it.

    Hi Jodi,

I am personally a huge fan of Jim Rohn too, thanks for sharing his quote. And yes, our bodies our our only places to live. If we remembered this on a regular basis perhaps we’d exercise and move the furniture more often, so to speak.

Cheers to you and your healthy mission,
    Blaze

Hi – just dropping by from the UBC and Facebook!

Thanks for an informative post – this seems to be a common theme with a lot of people this summer, including myself. 😉

I’m bookmarking your blog for future reference.

  3. It took me until after I was forty to realize that my very best friend in my life is my body. Then I could see myself as beautiful and I earnestly desired to treat my body better. It was then that I understood what self love was all about.
