Declare it!

You say you want a revolution
Well, you know…*

…it is time to declare that you are worthy of good health, prosperity, success and love!

Are you feeling stuck? Not releasing the weight that seems to be hanging on to your body for dear life? Continuing to sacrifice your self-care to achieve the success you desperately want? Describing how you feel based on whether you’ve taken your medication or not? Feeling lonely?

Declaration of IndependenceIt’s time to revolutionize your thinking and finally go for your goals! I understand the fear that might be holding you back. You ask yourself, “who am I to be so successful?” You think, “it’s easier to take medicine than change my eating habits.” And sadly, you may not believe you deserve to be loved by another human being.

I’m here to tell you that you must declare your independence from these limiting beliefs and embrace your power and greatness. Only you (your thoughts, beliefs, actions) can propel your life forward by working toward your lofty goals, and you are the one person who can hold yourself back from realizing your dreams. When I think back to how I held myself back it makes me want to cry, though I now know that all of my experiences have led me to be who I am today. Suffering, however, is not a pre-requisite for living a great life. I am grateful for the support I had on my journey and I’m honored to be here for you, Jurate.

Woman Looking in MirrorA key component of my breakthrough was using affirmations. I had to deprogram many of the beliefs I had adopted during my childhood and early adult life. Affirmations are short, positive statements in the present tense that express your goals and desires. Our subconscious mind doesn’t deal with negatives, so if you were to say, “I am not sick” because you want to recover from an illness and live a healthy life, your subconscious would hear, “I am sick.” Instead, you want to affirm, “I am healthy and my body is physically strong.” Repeating statements like this will enable your body, mind and spirit to believe this to be true and change your belief that you, unfortunately, are a victim of an illness.

Louise Hay, the brilliant spiritual guide and best-selling author, suggests in her book, “You Can Heal Your Life,” that you repeat affirmations daily in front of a mirror. Her belief is that looking into your own eyes helps you to deeply connect with your subconscious mind. Everyone always talks about healthy food and healthy living being expensive, right? Here is something you can do for free – the practice of affirmations.

You can start with one affirmation, or three or ten. Think about how you want to support your belief system and start wherever you are.

Declare your independence and start living your best life today!

Here are some affirmations to get you started:

  • I enjoy eating healthy food and love how it makes me feel.
  • I have bountiful energy throughout the day.
  • I exercise daily to keep my body healthy and strong.
  • I attract positive people and see the good in others.
  • I embrace change and easily adjust to new circumstances.

Next Steps:

  1. Be PositiveMake a commitment to practice at least one affirmation a day.
  2. Write out the affirmation (or more than one) and place near your bed, perhaps near your bathroom mirror and anywhere where you want to be reminded of your belief.
  3. Read your affirmation card when you wake up in the morning, before you go to bed at night and do as Louise Hay suggests and recite in front of a mirror.
  4. Notice how your belief systems change and support your goals and dreams.

One Response to "Declare it!"
  1. I love the idea of declaring, setting an intention. I think affirmations are tough for a lot of people (I know that I find myself channeling Stuart Smalley when I do them) so I prefer journaling about my new intentions. There’s something just as powerful about putting things down in writing. Curious to know your take on the spoken v written affirmation!
